Donald Trump Jr. Levels USA Today for What Front Page Looked Like After Trump Assassination Attempt

Townhall Media

As RedState reported earlier, though it didn't seem humanly possible the mainstream media has been even more shameless than usual in the aftermath of the second assassination attempt on GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump in a matter of three months.

For instance, a sick blame-the-victim angle is being pushed by many, with some media outlets incredibly saying the onus is on Trump to call on people to dial down the incendiary rhetoric (even though the alleged attempted assassin, Ryan Routh, is reportedly a crazed left-winger), while others have brought up his allegations about what's happening in Springfield, Ohio to seemingly suggest he deserved another attempt on his life.

Incredibly, the Cincinnati Enquirer even normalized the dangerous "he asked for it" tactic by greenlighting the publishing of a deranged letter from a reader that literally proclaimed Trump "brings a lot of this stuff on himself." The letter writer went on to ask (emphasis them) "Why should the American people continue to put out extra millions for protection that is only needed because the former president can't keep from lying and bringing these issues on himself?"

To make matters worse for media credibility, while the Trump assassination attempt understandably led coverage at many news outlets across the country, at USA Today, it was almost like it never even happened.

Here's what their front page looked like on Monday:

Understandably, Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr., was not amused:

Like the Enquirer irresponsibly running that reader letter, there is just no excuse at all for this story not being on the front page and featuring prominently above the fold, not just as an afterthought at the top left of the page.

You can best believe that if this was attempted on a Democrat twice, we'd have wall-to-wall 24-7 news coverage/saturation - especially if the suspect's political leanings were obvious as they were in this case. But apparently for some news organizations the target of these attempts is only worthy of a prominent feature story if they happen to not have an "R" by their name.

It's outrageous, but it's just who they are. There's a reason why trust in the MSM is at all-time lows, and USA Today just gave another big one as to why.
