The situation on our nation's southern border just keeps going from bad to worse. The Biden administration's non-actions on the border have done precisely nothing to stem the influx of people entering the country illegally, every day. On Thursday, Bill Melugin brought us the vivid evidence on X:
BREAKING: Mass illegal crossing of approximately 200 from around the world just happened here in Jacumba, CA. Day number two of Biden’s executive order - & we see zero impact here at the border. Large groups continue to cross without fear here in San Diego sector. pic.twitter.com/iQiqvoIxyb

Without fear — by which we can take Mr. Melugin to mean "without fear of consequences," including what should be the fate of people crossing our border illegally: immediate deportation. We have borders for a reason. And as to where these people are coming from: Unlike the Biden administration, Bill Melugin took the trouble to find out.
Just talked to some of them. Countries include China, Mauritania, India, Peru, & many others. pic.twitter.com/ePDmR6qCLb

We've discussed the threat of uncontrolled entry of Chinese nationals (and others) before; this is a national security threat that is going unaddressed and, indeed, is even being facilitated by the Biden administration and even municipal governments around the country.

I see military-aged males. Oh, granted, these are also the expected demographic we'd see if these were concerned husbands and fathers who wanted nothing more than to send giros postales back to their families in Mexico, Columbia, or Guatemala. But the point is, we don't know. We don't know how many are getting through undetected for everyone who gets caught — and then, on invoking the holy language of "asylum," gets released into the United States anyway, with an order to appear in six months, a year, five years in the future.
Too many people will characterize our objection to this as racist or say we are anti-immigrant. Nothing could be further from the truth. Legal immigration, controlled and monitored, limited to people who have something to contribute—skills, knowledge, resources—is an unalloyed good for the nation. We want people to come to America, as our ancestors did, to work, produce, contribute, and most of all, to assimilate and become Americans.
These people, the ones shown in Bill Melugin's video, do not fit this mold. That's not why they are here. Many of them, yes, want to work, to send money back to wherever they came from, and others, given the numbers involved, are almost certainly up to no good; thanks to the Biden administration, we just have very little idea who is entering the country illegally and why.
If the Biden administration could be summarized in one word, on this issue and a host of others, the word would be "impotent."
