TOP O' THE MORNIN'

Biden Botches Thomas Jefferson Quote While Mocking Him and Screaming

At this point, his brain is so far gone, I think he thinks if he yells something louder, it makes it true, when it's still the same old lie.

EXCLUSIVE: Dem Congressional Candidate Derek Tran Claims He's a Decorated Iraq Vet; Records Say Otherwise

Many of his claims are carefully phrased to be considered technically correct, but when he says he was "called to active duty for the Iraqi conflict" when he wasn't even mobilized in a support role for that operation, it seems that he's engaging in stolen valor.

How One Crafty Reporter Is Exposing 'Empty Shell' Kamala Harris One Day at a Time

But the past has a funny way of creeping up on politicos at the most inconvenient times, and the "joyful" Ms. Harris is certainly no exception to that rule.

WHAT'S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill...

It's been a busy week on the Hill, but there are no hearings or meetings set for Friday. Some Senate Democrats are pushing back on Vice President Kamala Harris' suggestion for filibuster reform. They're also hoping to make fetch happen in the Florida and Texas Senate races.

White House What's Up

President Joe Biden is traveling to Scranton, Pennsylvania, on Friday to pay respects to his childhood friend, Thomas Bell Sr., who recently passed away. After that, he'll head to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

The Homestretch

Harris will be in Douglas, Arizona, on Friday for a border visit to demonstrate how very border-serious she is. Campaign surrogate Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez will headline a Harris-Walz campaign event in Madison, Wisconsin, on Friday.

Former President Donald Trump will be in Walker, Michigan, and Warren, Michigan, on Friday for campaign events. Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) will be hosting a "financial literacy" event for the campaign on Friday, as well.

Full Court Press...

New York Mayor Eric Adams is expected in court Friday for his arraignment.

Hunter Biden's sentencing in Delaware has been pushed back a week to December 12, 2024, after the Government asked for a brief continuance due to a scheduling conflict — they'll be tied up in trial in the Alexander Smirnov case in California the week of December 4. (How's that for irony?)

MORNING MUSING

FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). The acronym has been around for a couple of decades, but I don't think it made it onto my radar until a few years ago. I do know it's real — that sense of apprehension that important things are happening and I'm missing them — only for me, it's not about social events and connections anymore, though it would have been at one time. No, these days, it's about keeping up with all of the news. I know I touched on this in yesterday's musing — and I don't want this to seem like a complaint. It's just an acknowledgment of how the brain seems to be wired these days. Hence, the meme below. But also, it's a reminder to myself (and others) that while we're seemingly drowning in the deluge of daily "news," there is Good News. Always.
