GOP Should Use Ron DeSantis' Strategy to Deliver a Big Win in November

As the Democrat National Convention approaches, the election season is getting into full swing. The Trump-Vance ticket is touring the swing states and making its case to voters, while presumptive Democrat nominee Kamala Harris is getting ready to announce her vice presidential pick.

For weeks, the media and Democrats alike have been calling GOP nominee for vice president and Ohio Sen. JD Vance "weird" and constantly harping on his "childless cat lady" remark while the GOP is talking about Harris' race and heritage.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has delivered for Floridians and turned the swing state into a red state, was asked about what strategy the Trump-Vance team should take on the campaign trail.

REPORTER: What advice would you give JD Vance to combat some of this, this weird narrative that he's trying to deflect on, because it seems like they don't have anything to go after him because he is, you know, Yale, veteran. So they call him weird. Any advice for JD?

DESANTIS: Well, here's what I would just say generally. The election needs to be about the fact that Kamala Harris is an unacceptable choice for president of the United States. Doesn't matter what you thought before. Now, she cannot be president for a variety of reasons. I've articulated some. I know the campaign has done other.

Any other energy spent talking about anything else, I think, is playing on the Democrats' turf. They want the election to be about something that the VP candidate said five years ago or something that happened ten years ago. If we're arguing on that, then the Democrats are in a better spot. This is about Kamala.

She is not equipped to be president. That's why Obama didn't endorse her right out of the gate, because he knows that. Now it looks like she's corralled the nomination, but we can't act like she's somehow an acceptable choice. She's the most left-wing nominee that we have had in this country in at least fifty years.

Here is the full interview:

Harris has flipped on many issues, from wanting to ban fracking to now not wanting to ban it, reversing course, and now not advocating for a Medicare for All, single-payer healthcare system; however, the counter the left will use is that times change, opinions change, and people change. Instead of focusing on the then, they should focus on the now and the disastrous border crisis, energy prices, and issues that impact families' daily lives.

More messaging like this is needed, and the media should be forced to cover it:

For the most part, Trump-Vance has stayed on track and exposed the Biden-Harris administration's disastrous three-and-a-half years; however, as we know, most of the media coverage will not be about that. Instead, they will take clips from them talking about her heritage or where she grew up, etc., and frame it as "Trump-Vance have no vision for the future of the country" and make it seem like that's all they want to speak about.

The media knows that replaying those clips will likely not move most undecided voters to the GOP's side. As long as Trump and Vance concentrate on highlighting the failures of the Democrats' policies and addressing the key issues that impact families nationwide, they will be well-positioned to win in November.
