Joe Biden’s mental decline and fading reelection prospects have dominated the news cycle lately, but his opponent is still out there getting ready for the Republican National Convention, which begins Monday.

Former President Trump is not staying silent, taking to social media Wednesday to blast George Clooney after the actor wrote an editorial calling on Joe Biden to walk away from his reelection campaign. “We are not going to win in November with this president,” Clooney opined.

Trump, not known for his subtlety—but famous for respecting loyalty—thought it was a lowlife move by the highly partisan Democrat thespian and compared him to a rodent: “He’s turned on Crooked Joe like the rats they both are”:

What does Clooney know about anything? He uses the Democrat “talking point” that Biden, the WORST President in the history of the United States, has “saved our Democracy.” No, Crooked Joe was the one who WEAPONIZED Law Enforcement against his political Opponent, who created the most devastating INFLATION in the history of our Country, who Embarrassed our Nation in Afghanistan, and whose crazy Open Border Policy has allowed millions of people to illegally pour into our Country, many from prisons and mental institutions. Crooked Joe Biden didn’t save our Democracy, he brought our Democracy to its knees. Clooney should get out of politics and go back to television. Movies never really worked for him!!!

Clooney’s editorial caused quite the uproar, and Trump himself had already posted a funny meme before this latest broadside.

Biden Campaign's Response to the George Clooney Op-Ed Is Straight Outta LOLsville

Trump called Clooney out on his fawning depiction of Biden and his “successes,” noting that even as the actor is stabbing the president in the back, he’s still trying to gaslight America.

"What does Clooney know about anything? He uses the Democrat ‘talking point’ that Biden, the WORST President in the history of the United States, has ‘saved our Democracy,'" Trump stated.

Clooney did take an apologetic tone in his op-ed — outright stating "I love Joe Biden" and that he believes in his "character" and "morals" — but claimed to have witnessed his decline firsthand at a fundraiser last month.

"It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe ‘big F-ing deal’ Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate," Clooney wrote.

Clooney also penned, “Joe Biden is a hero; he saved democracy in 2020.” Joe has proven himself over and over to be anything but a hero, and since 2020 he’s assaulted democracy way more than he’s “saved it.”

Trump is right to call Clooney out on this utter BS.

Many, including myself, have asked—as multiple Dem politicians, liberal news outlets, and celebrities call for the president to step down, confessing total shock that the president is showing symptoms of decline—where have you been all this time? Why did it take three weeks after Clooney held a  $28 million Biden fundraiser for him to let us in on the news? Biden has been showing signs of decline since at least his 2020 basement campaign, and outlets like RedState have been reporting it all along. For Clooney, and the New York Times and their ilk, to profess shock and amazement is the height of dishonesty.

Trump initially maintained an unusual level of silence for him after the debate, letting the Democrats implode by themselves. But he couldn't help himself and weighed in earlier in July with another humorous post offering Joe some campaign advice:

Trump Has Some Surprising—and Funny—Campaign Advice for Joe Biden

Biden is holding a rare press conference Thursday evening, and has agreed to sit down for an NBC interview scheduled to air Monday. Will this be enough to quiet the calls for him to step down? It seems pretty darn unlikely at this point.
