The town of Springfield, Ohio, is dealing with a big influx of Haitian immigrants who are in the country because they were given temporary protective status by the government,
According to Mayor Rob Rue, they're seeing between 15-20,000 people coming into the town, which has only about 60,000 to begin with, and it's putting a strain on the resources, on the police, the fire department, the health care, and the schools. He's blaming the bad immigration policies. He said they'd just been overwhelmed.
The problem is also affecting the people in the town. One woman's heartbreaking remarks from last month at a city commission meeting are now going viral.
Absolutely HEARTBREAKING moment Springfield, Ohio, resident tells mayor that she "can't take it anymore" as Haitian migrants squat on her lawn, litter in her yard and harass her and elderly husband daily.

"I'm done with what I'm seeing," she said in a voice full of emotion.
"It is so unsafe in my neighborhood anymore. I have the homeless who are trying to camp out. I have made concessions with them and I try to help them the best I can to keep them from trying to squat on my property. But it is so unsafe. I have men that cannot speak English in my front yard screaming at me, throwing mattresses in my front yard, throwing trash in my front yard. And I can't...look at me, I weigh 95 pounds. I couldn't defend myself if I had to."
She said her husband was elderly, and he told her last night, after living in their home for 45 years, it was "time to pack up and move," and they couldn't do this anymore, that it was "killing them mentally."
"'I don't know what you expect of us as citizens. I mean...I understand that they are here under temporary protective status and you are protecting them. I understand our city services are overwhelmed and understaffed.
Who's protecting us if we're protecting them? Who's protecting me?
I want out of this town. Please give me a reason to stay."
It's hard not to feel for her. The response was to thank her for her comment, which doesn't exactly sound like a reason to stay in such an untenable situation. There's no excuse for any of that; she has a right to feel safe in her own home. She puts a real face on an issue that many have to endure in a variety of cities because of the Biden-Harris failure to properly address immigration issues.
We've seen stories from Brooklyn to Colorado of residents having to deal with the problem.

The Biden-Harris team doesn't care about the effects of their policies on the American people. For three years, not only did they deny the issues, but they broke the border and made everything worse, doing away with protections put in place by former President Donald Trump. Now, with the election looming, they've finally figured out what a bad issue it is for them. But that isn't making them improve the problem, it's just making them try to shift the blame to Republicans. They don't take responsibility for their own actions.
But it's all on them.
